The mortgage market is now very competitive in the UK and there are some great deals available. You should regularly review your mortgage situation to see whether moving to another lender would save you money. Gone are the days where you remain with the same lender for 25 years.

Consumer Association Which? estimate that £2.2 Billion is wasted every year on mortgages, simply because borrowers stay with the same mortgage lender year after year and by doing so miss out on great savings, lower interest rates and better service. 

You're quite likely to be able to save money if you've come to the end of a special deal (for instance a fixed or discounted rate) and are now paying your lender's standard rate.
